Updated ArcTanGent 2024 posterTo help celebrate the tenth year of the ArcTanGent festival, today’s band announcement is very likely it’s biggest ever in its history. Yes, it is a biggie, and yes it will make you all very happy.

Announced for this year’s event are the world renowned, globally acclaimed Scottish post rock band Mogwai, who play the festival for the very first time when they close it out with the Saturday night headlining slot.

Joining them include the atmospheric and powerful Texan quartet, Explosions In The Sky, who will headline the Thursday night, the mysterious and anonymous duo Clown Core who play music ranging from grindcore to jazz, and the insanely talented Norwegian multi-instrumentalist Ihsahn (who, incidentally, releases his new, self-titled album, next month).

Not stopping there, the festival can also announce another festival debutant in the shape of English stoner/doom metal band Electric Wizard, Belgian post-metal band AmenRa, New York solo artist Julie Christmas, Massachusetts post rock band Caspian, British math-rock band Delta Sleep, NYC hardcore three-piece Show Me The Body – AND the Japanese psych rock band Bo Ningen.

They also have Brontide who are reforming and playing their album ‘Artery’ in full (alongside other ‘bangers), festival favourites Earthtone9, exciting French space rock band Slift, up and coming ÜK talent with Tokky Horror and Zetra and so much more!

ATG organizer and booker James Scarlett told us:

“As we’re celebrating TEN years of ArcTanGent we made a list of the bands that have never played that we’ve always wanted to make it more special than ever, and naturally Mogwai were top of that list. We’re over the moon to also be bringing the likes of Electric Wizard and Clown Core to their first ever ATG. We weren’t lying when we said our tenth year is going to be the biggest ATG ever – it’s going to be biblical!”
