Playing a range of genres from punk rock such as The Cramps to traditional metal, the band is ready for their next adventure. It’s been a long time since their 2018 EP ‘Pretty Girls’ and the quartet promises that the new album will show different sides of the band.

BATB is both potent and powerful with a lineup that includes Elizabeth Hale on lead vocals, Jay Matheson on guitar, Kevin Brewer on drums, and Roger Shattuck on bass. The first single is called ‘BGF’ and is a showcase for the vigorous energy that is synonymous with the band. Starting off heavy with a commanding riff and fuzzed out guitar, ‘BGF’ takes off with the sultry vocals of Hale and the thundering rhythm section of Brewer and Shattuck driving the frenetic pace. Be on the lookout for an extreme guitar meltdown midway through from Matheson. It’s something you won’t want to miss. The punk riffs keep coming with the head-bopping sound of ‘Vertigo’ and the fast and furious ride of chaotic punk that is ‘Hiding Place.’

The band is fully in their element with the down and dirty groove of ‘Sugar Tit.’ It’s raw and raunchy and if you’ve ever yelled out “more cowbell!” at a show, then this one is for you. I absolutely love the throwback ‘70s style guitar solo in ‘Nobody’s Rock and Roll Fool’ as well as Hale’s sinister attitude on the title track. Shattuck’s bass lines help drive it home on ‘Get Some’ amidst the crashing drums of Brewer while ‘I Hope You Choke’ is a pure pent-up release of punk-rock energy.  My favourite track on the record is ‘Last American Whore’, because Jay Matheson’s guitar work is crazy, chaotic, and colossal. Closing out the record is ‘Control Freak,’ a solid banger for sure.

Four years is a long time between records, but I think you’ll find ‘Lucky Foot’ worth the wait.
