OK, Jase W is gonna preface this with the fact that he’d already been to the first date of this tour in Leeds the day before today’s show, but he wasn’t going to miss two chances to see a band he’s fallen in love with. Almost immediately after the release of their latest album, ‘NULA’, Vukovi have gotten the hype built up to an unbelievable level and are going to capitalize on that by taking ZAND out for the ride along with them. Multiple dates throughout the ÜK and a few stops in Europe and if the previous night’s show was anything to go by, Manchester’s crowd had got its work cut out for it!

Frank Turner And The Sleeping Souls/Pet Needs – Manchester, Academy – 11 October 2022

For what is perhaps a first for Jonny B during his time at Über Rock, he found himself heading down to Manchester to see an artist who recently held the number one slot in the ÜK album charts – Frank Turner And The Sleeping Souls. JB has always found that Turner appeals to a real variety of fans due to his blend of folk music and punk tendencies over his 17-year solo career, and the lineup for this show really does reflect that. We’ve got Mash P – a young hip hop artist from Sierra Leone who has managed to get a scholarship in the ÜK (with a little help from Turner), Truckstop Honeymoon, a folk/country duo, and Pet Needs – who had their recent album ‘Primetime Entertainment’ produced by Turner and which will appeal to those who are more punk inclined. Turner is a man who is absolutely passionate about music and touring, so it’s no real surprise that he was using this tour to showcase these up and coming artists and friends.
