Alter Bridge are to fly high over Wales next summer, when they make their first return to the Principality in seven years by headlining their own curated festival.
With the quartet celebrating 20 plus years as a band their next tour covers Newcastle, Manchester, Dublin, Glasgow, London, Nottingham in the early part of 2026. Now, they are lining up a fantastic treat for the Welsh fans who have supported them during their career but have waited since 2019 to see them back on their home soil, with the announcement of the inaugural Blackbird Festival at Cardiff Castle next 27 June.
With Cardinal Black touring with Myles Kennedy this year and Florence Black touring with Mark Tremonti, it was just a matter of time before either or both these South Wales bands found their way onto a ÜK bill with the full line-up of the alt rock titans. Also joining the bill as special guests will be Newport legends Skindred, who are always going to “gimme that boom”, with one more band to be announced.
Add to this the announcements of new music from both Alter Bridge and Florence Black in the early part of next year, you have to ask, Whats not to like.
However, there is one downside – or upside depending on your point of view: this happens to coincide with the Metallica date on 28 June so accommodation will be at a premium – OR you get two great days rock music on the same weekend hotel bill! Take your pick!
Tickets go on general sale from 9.30am on Friday 22 August, with some pre-sales available from next Tuesday (19 August).
