Dick Parry, the saxophone player best known for his work with Pink Floyd, has died at the age of 83.

A lifelong friend of Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour, Parry first played with the band on 1973’s ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’ album, appearing on the tracks ‘Us And Them’ and ‘Money’. He also played on ‘Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Part V)’ on the ‘Wish You Were Here’ album and, almost two decades later on ‘The Division Bell’ and ‘Pulse’ albums. He toured with Pink Floyd throughout much of the 1970s, and later as part of Gilmour’s solo band.
A renowned session musician, he also appeared on albums by Rory Gallagher (‘Jinx’), The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band and Paice Ashton Lord, and toured with bands as diverse as The Who and The Violent Femmes.
