Curated by Monk

So, here we are, batterin’ and breezin’, poundin’ ‘n’ pummellin’, stompin’ ‘n’ strollin’ our way towards the end of another busy rockin’ ‘n’ rollin’ month here in the Überverse… We’ve the death decks fully cranked up, and the amps set so loud that the Trumpinator is threatening to declare them a weapon of mass distraction and launch a tactical strike on the dank back alleys of Belfast… but, we’re out of flying fucks to give about what he thinks, so instead we invite you to grab a chilled beer or three, settle into your favourite studded leather armchair and enjoy our latest selection of the hottest aural delights to have come our way over the past seven days:

Aeons In Solitude ‘Dreamer’ (Self-Released)

This Athenian gothic darkwave duo – one half of whom has one of the most famous surnames in Greek music, and whose producer possesses another – unveil their first new music since their Covid era debut album, with this opening sample from their forthcoming follow-up, due for release in a few short weeks’ time:

Cape Crush ‘Train In Motion’ (Wanna Hear It Records)

The fourth and final taster of the imminent debut album by the Massachuessetts power-emo combo, which is being released this coming week:

Chloe Star ‘you say’ (Self-Released)

This young LA pop punk firestarter is being described in some quarters as a female Yungblud and it’s not hard to see why on this latest standalone offering, released via her own newly established label:

Dead Reynolds ‘Hideaway’ (Self-Released)

The East Anglian alt-rock pop punks – or pop punk-infused alt-rockers, if they (or you) prefer – have just released their latest album, which saw them issue a ‘Yellow Weather Warning‘ for an incoming collection of anthemic earworms when it hit our deathdecks just 48 hours ago:

Night Thieves ‘See You On The Other Side’ (Self-Released)

The London alt-metallers teamed up with Dream State’s Jessie Powell for this latest cut from their recently released debut album, in turn prefacing an upcoming run of summer festival gigs:

Richie Cross ‘My Right Two Feathers’ (SODEH Records)

The Las Vegas alt-punker claims that you can’t outrun what you already know as he continues the build up to the release of his debut solo album, which will see him ‘Bridging The Gap’ when it is released later in the year:

RØRY ‘Kids These Days’ (Self-Released)

The self-proclaimed “delusional old ADHD bitch” has her tongue firmly planted in her cheek as she broadcasts a faux party political broadcast about the positivity pervading Britain, and especially its youth, as she invokes her primary rule: Say Anything That Ignites Rage Everywhere… and we couldn’t agree more!

sace6 ‘reverie’ (Sumerian Records)

The fourth and final taster of the upcoming ‘brutalist‘ album from the enigmatic R&B metal duo, which sees them collaborating with someone called jdxn (no, we haven’t a clue who that is either!):

Scarlet Tantrum ‘Mutate’ (SODEH Records)

This North Carolina indie alt-rock songstress uses her monicker to reflect the intensity of both her hair colour and her musical attitude, the latter of which is clearly evident on this latest standalone offering, which draws on the likes of Paramore, Wolf Alice and Garbage as much as it does Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus:

Small Town Saviours ‘Alkaline’ (Self-Released)

It’s been a while since these Basingstoke glunk ‘n’ rollers graced our playlist, but we’re glad to welcome them back with both open arms and ears as they turn the energy level up to maximum with this latest standalone offering:

The Dead Collective ‘Goliath’ (Self-Released)

The second single from the forthcoming debut EP by the new collab between Oli Brown and Sam Wood, who have just set out on a short run of dates ahead of the May 22 release dates:

The Dead Krazukies ‘1997’ (SBÄM Records/Kicking Records)

Are we developing a thematic here in terms of band names? These French melodic hardcore punks are very much alive as they turn the clock back to a time was simpler, and the fun felt it would last forever, on this second sample from their upcoming fourth album:

The XCERTS ‘pretty ugly’ (FLG Records)

Another band who seem to have a thing about lowercase song titles, this Brighton trio (who actually originally hail from Aberdeen!) serve up another sample of their upcoming new album, due to see them feeling homesick at the beginning of July:

Wrex ‘111’ (Self-Released)

Brighton also serves up our final offering, as this fiercesome punk duo serve up a very short (the title is a clue to its length!) but sweet third taster of their upcoming sophomore EP, which will see them usher us into their ‘Sadworld‘ next month:

So, there you have it, our latest selections to both kick off a new rockin’ ‘n’ rollin’ week and end yet another rockin’ ‘n’ rolling month in… well, rockin’ ‘n’ rollin’ style. We’ll be back same time, same place next week, kickin’ off another mayhemic month (sic) with another selection of the finest tunes which will have been embracing our eardrums in the intervening period. And don’t forget to check out our daily picks as well… In the meantime, keep ‘er lit, keep ‘er between the hedges and keep on Über Röckin’ in the free world \m/
