Chosen by Monk
This veteran Canadian punk quartet are definitely, and defiantly, preaching to both the rock ‘n’ roll choir and its converted congregation with this latest chapter and verse from their upcoming new album, which will see them take us on a journey to a #ColdWorld next month:
Speaking about the single, the band told ÜRHQ:
‘Pulpit’ is a musical excavation of what always feels to be looming in the dark corners around us… our palpable mortality, the deception of belief, and the beauty of decay, all wrapped up into a twist and turn for two-and-a-half minutes that will just keep you guessing.
Talking about the album, the follow up to 2022’s ‘New Ruin’ as a whole, they add:
While ‘New Ruin’ was preoccupied with the inherited damages of the last generation, ‘Cold World’ sees that legacy for what it is — a ghost, a fading memory. If ‘New Ruin’ was about the rage of realization, now we’re damned with the aftermath of clarity. Welcome to the future.
- ‘Cold World‘ will be released via Equal Vision/Dine Alone Records on 8 May.
- The Flatliners will play a mixture of festival and headline shows across Europe in June. These will include the Jera On Air weekender in Ysselsteyn on 26 June.
