The gloriously shambolic Uber Rock Radio Show returned for its 55th show at the ghost town that is BRfm and brought with it at least a couple of exclusives – songs getting their first ever taste of glorious airplay!

Brand new music from the likes of Danko Jones, Gallows, Halestorm, Bonafide, Straight To Video and Wednesday 13 rubbed shoulders with uber-cool tunes from The Empty Hearts, Watts, The DeRellas and more.

Those exclusives, though: The Hip Priests have a new single coming out and the B-side is a not-so-cultured take on a cult song from ‘Tattooed Beat Messiah’, the stunning debut album from Zodiac Mindwarp and the Love Reaction. Did we play it? You can bet your sweet bippy we did, bruthas and sistas! Also getting its first virtual spin was ‘Better Off Asleep’, the brand new standalone single from Magic Eight Ball, recently confirmed for the acoustic day at this coming July’s Slugfest/Uberpalooza mash-up.

Uber Rock’s Big Issue spoke of the coolest women in rock ‘n’ roll, and the end of both Mötley Crüe and The Black Crowes was discussed in the usual idiotic manner by Gaz, Johnny ‘Preperation’ H, and Rob ‘The Butcher’ Watkins, the latter leaving all listeners with lumps in their throats after another particularly touching instalment of Watkins’s Tune… though those lumps could have been furballs. Even the weasel-like Chris ‘The Weasel’ Phillips popped up like a lost twiglet to offer listeners the chance to win tickets to a Henry’s Funeral Shoe gig at the Number One music venue in Blaenau Gwent.
