We may be only a fortnight into the new rock ‘n’ roll year but already the quality tunage is landing on ÜRHQ’s death decks in a virtual avalanche of aural delights… led this week by the absolutely huge latest single from one of our favourite outfits, rocket-fuelled Welsh superstars in the making Those Damn Crows, who are blasting into 2023 with their latest offering.
As catchy as its subject matter, the Covid pandemic, ‘See You Again’ is also a contemplative reflection of the events which have affected all of us in so many different ways over the course of the first part of this decade, as charismatic frontman Shane Greenhall told us:
‘When will I see you again?’ is the question I was silently asking our fans every day throughout the pandemic. When were we getting back on stage, doing what we do best? When do we get to play in front of our fans again and share those moments of connection through our shows like we have done for the past seven years? At the time there were literally no answers, no one knew, there was no way forward, our world as we knew it… stopped.
We were separated, we were all suffering, we were at a loss, some in more ways than one. Though like EVERYTHING, the situation was temporary; life again showing us how brutal and beautiful it can be while throwing us those valuable lessons – that nothing lasts forever, whether it’s good or bad and that the Crows, the fans, and all that our music stands for… continues to heal me.
With the video combining an in-studio performance with live footage, intermingled with a highly appropriate series of dramatized clips emphasizing the song’s subject, ‘See You Again’ is a guaranteed singalong floor-filler, the latest taster of the Valleys lads’ forthcoming third album ‘Inhale/Exhale’, a ten-track collection of bona fide, ‘bangers – and believe us, ‘cos we’ve heard it – set for release worldwide via Earache Records on 17 February.
The Crows head out on the road next month:
They also have announced a series of in-store acoustic shows to coincide with the tour dates:
