Electric Callboy are a group that’s gone from relatively small to selling out some of the most premier venues in the ÜK almost overnight thanks to the unbelievable success of their singles leading up to current album ‘Tekkno’. To say Jase W had been excited for this show is a bit of an understatement; what was already a pretty awesome set at Slam Dunk this year was but a small taste of the set length that they were due to play tonight.

We were first introduced to south Wales punk rock upstarts Penny Rich just two short weeks ago, when they shared their ‘Last Meal’ with us as part of our recent Singles Club focus on the wealth of talent here in the Über Kingdom of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Nothing makes Jase W happier than seeing bands he listened to in his formative days of getting into rock and metal persisting all the way into his ’30s and a big part of that was Placebo. Feeling my attention firmly captivated by the likes of ‘Nancy Boy’, ‘The Butter End’, and ‘Pure Morning’ is a strong memory for him and tonight he got to see them smash it at Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse.
