‘Trench of Loneliness’ is the fourth album by Iterum Nata, a psychedelic neofolk-rock project by Finnish multi-instrumentalist Jesse Heikkinen, formerly of  Hexvessel, for whom he played lead guitar for five years. All aspects of Iterum Nata are profoundly inspired by the pagan worldview, esotericism, and the dark regions of the human mind; the result is something that has been compared to “the bastard offspring of Rome, Tenhi, Of the Wand & the Moon, Linda Perhacs, Espers and early King Crimson. As regular ÜR readers will know, we first crossed paths with the artist known as Vaughanstrosity when he closed the revolving door of bass players who had made their various entrances and exits with Belfast shock punks So Long Until The Séance. What we didn’t know at the time was that Ruaidhri was also an extremely talented solo artist in his own right – something about which we were made to sit up and take notice about at the beginning of November when he absolutely nicked our precious #VideoOfTheWeek title right from under our very noses. Fredlös came together in the Spring of 2021, rising from the ashes of previous musical adventures, based in the country around Nortallje, northeast of Stockholm and united by a deep sense of their historical roots and a love of dark sounds. The band is Robert Lindgren (bass), guitarists Tomas Karlson, Fredrik Danielsson and Alex Hellid (yes, from Enslaved), lead singer Liv Hope  and Victor Dahlin on keyboards. We have to assume that the drums are either by a session musician or, the gods forbid, programmed!
