Bassist Kevin Chown, best known for his work with Tarja Turunen, Cosmosquad and Chad Smith’s Bombastic Meatballs, has died at the age of 56, following a battle with cancer.
The Michigan-born musician, who started his career in the progressive metal band Edwin Dare in the early 1990s, was a member of Tarja’s band between 2011 and 2019.
He was also a highly respected session musician, working with the likes of Tony MacAlpine and Paul Gilbert, and a touring bassist for Sebastian Bach and Steelheart.
