So, here we are, pummelling and pounding our way into the dark heart of another action-packed month of quality releases to bring you our latest pick of the hottest sounds that have been battering and tickling our eardrums over the past week. But, why waste inane and needless words… let’s dive straight into this week’s playlist, shall we?
Ain’t ‘Long Short Round’ (Fear Of Missing Out Records)
The south London quintet kick off this month’s playlist by continuing to demonstrate their affinity for stranger side of 90s guitar music, post-punk, shoegaze and Noughties Midwest emo with this, their fifth single:
Aryel Moon ‘Little Bit Closer’ (Self-Released)
The Dublin alt-rock grungers blend punk energy, riot grrl infusions and poetic depth as the address the initial stages of falling for someone and the gap between genuine connection and limerence in a melancholic but cathartic way on this, their third single:
Boneyard ‘Hanging Tree’ (Self-Released)
The third single to be extracted from the upcoming second album by the Canadian melodic metallers:
Circle The City ‘Another Day’ (SODEH Records)
This Canadian alt-rock quartet may be going #Incommunicado with their new EP of the same name, but they in the meantime they are expressing the strength it takes to start again, emerge from the wreckage and turn scars into resolve with this cornerstone single:
Dead Reynolds ‘Hesitate’ (Self-Released)
These East Anglian alt-punks aren’t hesitating but giving us plenty of notice that they will be sounding a #YellowWeatherWarning with the release of their debut full-length album next April:
Desert Kites ‘Summer Light’ (SODEH Records)
The alt-rockers evoke the spirit of The Verve, Doves and Radiohead’s more reflective moments on this nostalgic reflection on the glory days of Brit rock:
Des Rocs ‘This Land’ (Sumerian Records)
This first single from the New York street rocker’s upcoming new album, due early next year, will be known to gamers as it is featured on soundtrack for ‘Borderlands 4’:
Honeybadger ‘Let There Be Light’ (SODEH Records)
The Greek heavy stoners present a sonic tug-of-war between darkness and illumination with the title track 0f their second album, which was released earlier this year:
Limbonauts ‘Let Your Heart Be Broken’ (Self-Released)
This alt-rock trio are running their very own #SinglesClub with this being their eighth standalone release in as many months, following that of their debut album at the beginning of the year:
Mini Skirt ‘Squeeze Down’ (Bad Vibrations)
The Aussie pub punks will be sharing all that they know when they released their second album in just under a month’s time, with this serves as the latest taster:
Soulweaver ‘Red’ (Self-Released)
This power trio from the south-west of England are starting the build up to the release of their new album at the tail end of next year, with a campaign which will see them releasing new music every 3-4 months, with this being the first salvo:
Stephen McCaffrey ‘I Am The Buffalo’ (Self-Released)
The Edinburgh songsmith has just released his debut album, which pulls together all of the music he has released over the past 20 months or so, with this being the final track to get its own dedicated release:
The Home Grown ‘Tide’ (Self-Released)
The Midlands post-grunge quartet recently served us up #MilkAndSugar with their debut EP, from which this is the latest sample:
The Larches ‘Ego Death/The Skin I Live In’ (Self-Released)
These teenage Teesside alt-sludge stoners resurrect the faithful double A-side format with this sophomore release:
The Noisy ‘Neckline’ (Audio Antihero)
The Philadelphia post-trash indie alt-pop projectors issue the final single from their wonderfully named ‘The Secret Ingredient Is Even More Meat’, due to come our way later this coming week:
T R Y S T ‘Vessel’ (Self-Released)
The Irish darkgaze duo deliver an emotional black-gaze bloodletting draped in the starry elegance of post-rock and the slow crush of post-metal as the third and final advance preview of their upcoming debut EP, due next month:
Urstaat ‘Misha 039’ (SODEH Records)
This Greek instrumental post-metal.sludge quartet describe what they do as “the sound of humanity digitized and dismantled, taking alt-metal and metalcore into a realm of industrial chaos and psychological disintergration” with this third and final single from their upcomi g new album:
Wiltwither ‘Obsolete’ (3Dot Recordings)
The South Carolina nü-metalcore mob round out this week’s playlist with the second taster of their upcoming concept album, which will see them emerge into the #PureLight on Halloween:
