Mike PetersMike Peters, leader and founder of Welsh folk/pop rockers The Alarm, had died at the age of 66 following a long battle with cancer and various associated complications.

Peters formed The Alarm in Rhyl in 1981, with the band scoring its biggest hit, ‘Sixty Eight Guns’, in September 1983. Peters continued with the band, as well as a solo career, for the next four decades, with the latest album, ‘Transformation’, scheduled for release in June.

He was diagnosed with lymphona in 1995 and had fought the disease, in various incarnations, for the past 30 years.
