It’s hard to believe that we’re more than a quarter of the way through another Über Rockin’ year, and another extremely busy one it has already proven to be, with several hundred quality tunes from both the scene’s heavy hitters and its independent stalwarts having graced our deathdecks and playlists, with the promise of plenty more to come, as we prove once again right here, right now:
AlphaWhores ‘Beautiful Music, Awful Person’ (Self-Released)
The Panamanian heavy alt-stoner duo of Massiel Pinzón and Juan Carlos García de Paredes are no strangers to the Singles Club, this being their third visit this year already, presenting us on this occasion with the second single to be lifted from their upcoming new album:
A Thousand Horses ‘Til My Heart Don’t Beat’ (Self-Released)
We pay our first visit to the original “Music City”, Nashville, from where this soulful southern rock trio present us with a new song from the upcoming deluxe reissue of last year’s third album:
Beat Me Outta Me ‘Mascara’ (Self-Released)
The debut offering from this shoegazing Peterborough five-piece, who aren’t hiding behind any make-up but rather presenting us with fresh-faced honesty on this first recording:
CLKWRK ‘Burn Bright’ (Self-Released)
The Stoke melodic alt-rock trio certainly live up to the name of their latest offering, their first new music since last year’s ‘Shadows & Silhouettes‘ album:
Dirty Slippers ‘The Best’ (Self-Released)
Originally from Budapest but now based in London, this indie-pop rock band will be hoping to live up to the title of this first release from their latest album, due out later this year:
Empired ‘Just A Phase’ (Hey!Fever Records)
The LA punk quintet serve up the first taster of their as-yet-undetailed new album:
Ghosts Of Sunset ‘She’s Been Coming Around’ (Golden Robot Records)
Another outfit who are regular visitors to the Club return with another slice of melodic rock and the first sample of new music coming our way in the not too distant future:
Infamous Stiffs ‘Loose Screwz (Golden Robot Records)
The Bay Area hate punk quartet pull no punches with this commentary on the chaos that is modern America:
Lot Lizards ‘Great Escapes’ (Punkerton Records)
The Florida melopunks channel the sound and the spirit of both the Nineties and the Noughties on this latest standalone release:
Man/Woman/Chainsaw ‘Adam & Steve’ (So Young Records)
The band with the best name in this week’s compilation – and one which plays havoc with spellcheckers and WP formatters alike, the rising teenage art-punk sextet present their bittersweet take on a heart-on-sleeve love song with this special AA release:
Militia Vox ‘Reach’ (Golden Robot Records)
The multi-disciplinary alt-metal vocalist, perhaps best known as the frontwoman of the Uberverse’s only all-female Judas Priest tribute act, has teamed up with guitarist Logan Madder and industrial metallists FleischKrieg for this latest post-apocalyptic musical vision:
Miracle Blood ‘Pets And Owners’ (Nefarious Industries)
The Boston caustic punk/noise rock trio declared ‘Hello Hell‘ with their second album last year, of which this is the latest sample to be offered up in advance of a run of dates that will see them on the road until the end of next month:
Paralyzed ‘Railroad’ (Ripple Music)
The German NWoCRers are preparing to #RumbleAndRoar as they once again evoke the golden era of Seventies heaviness with their upcoming third album, due for release this time next month:
Parker Barrow ‘Make It’ (Self-Released)
The Nashville-based blues-infused Southern rockers take their name from the infamous bank-robbing duo Bonnie and Clyde, but there’s certainly nothing criminal about this introduction to their NWoCR sound, which will be further showcased during a run of dates in July:
Quaint ‘Turn Away’ (Self-Released)
The Glaswegian indie/alt rockers draw from commercial prog as much as they do Britpop angst on this addressing of the problems of addiction:
Romeopathy ‘Chemicals’ (SODEH Records)
The Belfast alt-rock quartet, who pride themselves on taking seriously the idea that they don’t take things very seriously, explore the sometimes toxic relationship between children and their parents with this latest standalone release:
Seraphic Eyes ‘Escape Your Version Of Me’ (Earache Records)
The Italian alt-rock trio, whose USP is apparently the fact that they have their sound tuned to 432Hz break free with the latest sample of their upcoming sixth studio album:
Star Circus ‘One Hit Wonder’ (Renaissance Records)
We’re certainly hoping that these London NWoCRers don’t live up to the title of this latest offering, especially as they’ll be rising ‘From The Wreckage’ with their second album, due in June:
The Ratchets ‘Can’t Walk Until You Run’ (Pirates Press Records)
The second in a series of standalone singles due to be released by the New Jersey punk rockers over the course of this year:
Verkari ‘Show Me Your Teeth’ (Self-Released)
The Ohio metalcore mob deliver another standalone salvo, just their second release in their two-year career:
War Of Attrition ‘The Devil You’ve Become’ (Self-Released)
On the weekend before their home city undergoes it bi-annual siege, the Limerick blackened death metallers close out this week’s playlist with this ferocious exemplar of all that is best about the vibrant Irish scene:
So, there you have it, our latest dynamic and eclectic selection. Hopefully we’ve opened your ears to some new sounds, and pointed you in the direction of some fine tuneage to kick your new rock ‘n’ roll week (and month) off in style… Until next time, remember: keep ‘er lit, keep ‘er between the hedges and keep on Über Rockin’ in the free world \m/
