Chosen by Monk
We’re not straying too far from our home turf for our latest selection – just up the road a wee bit in fact to a formerly sleepy little hamlet that now gives its name to a Brexit-defying international power metal collaboration born out of the Covid pandemic and now making great strides forward with the release earlier this year of their ÜR-approved third album. The latest single to be extracted is a perhaps surprising choice, being acoustic-led and the most introspective and melancholic track on the album, but one which at the same time highlights the depth of the band’s emotional attachment to their musical thematic.
Speaking about the song, guitarist Steve Moore told me:
All of our songs tell a story. Some about myths and folklore. Others about struggles most of us have to face during our lives.
‘Think of Me Sometimes’ is a song about loss. When we die, we want to be remembered. But we want those memories to bring a smile to the faces of the ones we leave behind. We hope this song brings comfort in dark times, and helps you cope with loss.
