Your favourite platinum-selling alt rockers, Papa Roach, are at it again! Today (Friday 8 April), the band release their 11th (yes, you read that right!) studio album titled ‘Ego Trip’ via New Noize Records. We’ve been getting teased with several powerful singles and the time has come to put all the pieces together. As vocalist Jacoby Shaddix explains,“Now isn’t the time for comfort or conformity, but to be inspired and build something new. Something better, in order to channel something more.”
Papa Roach has always strived for excellence and this album certainly delivers. ‘Kill The Noise’ kicks off the album with infectious riffs and a brutal breakdown, while ‘Stand Up’ brings a perfect blend of heavy hip-hop vibes with soaring vocals.
Another major standout track on the album is ‘Swerve,’ which features Jason Aalon Butler (Fever333) and Sueco. This multi-genre banger is bound to be a fan favorite! ‘Ego Trip’ is an album that doesn’t have a single skip. Each track has earned its place, including the super catchy title track ‘Ego Trip’ and ‘Unglued’.
One thing for sure is I’d love to hear ‘Dying To Believe’ echoing through a stadium. Reminiscent of Linkin Park with catchy hooks, bone-crunching riffs and electronic glitches, what more could you want! The boys also slow things down with an acoustic track titled ‘Leave A Light On,’ which showcases Jacoby’s tremendous vocal abilities.
Don’t just take it from me though. It’s very rare these days to find an album that’s solid from start to finish, but Papa Roach has knocked it out of the park with ‘Ego Trip’. Make sure you pick up a copy or stream it on your favorite platform!
