I feel I’m not doing justice to Hellscrack with this review, but the problem with them is that they are so good live that their recorded output, whilst being good, is never quite gonna match their incendiary live performance.

That said this is a very solid album. Hellscrack wear their influences on their sleeve, even covering Rose Tattoo’s ‘Remedy’ on this.  There’s also plenty of Scandinavian rock ‘n’ roll stylee in there on songs like opener ‘Sad Little Girl’ and the to-the-point ‘Rock ‘n’ Rollers Rock’.  Guitarist Laurent and drummer Shuman share the vocals about and compliment their style well, but it’s just so much better screamed at you ten feet away in a packed club. Don’t let that stop you getting this though, just make sure you get to their next show within 100 miles of you.
