It’s Day 6.66 of Uber Rock’s 13 Days of Halloween so don’t be surprised to find our severed fingers dabbling in the demonic. H13’s next victim is Andy A of Boise, Idaho’s punk/surf/psychobilly terror trio, Demoni. Read on for the crypt-cool thoughts on all things horrific from a man-thing that knows no bounds…..
1.) What are your most vivid childhood memories of Halloween?
My most vivid memory of Halloween as a child was being scared to the point of peeing my pants after watching Halloween and having the babysitter chase me around in a mask with a kitchen knife.
2.) Why do you think that the worlds of horror and metal/punk have always been so closely linked?
I think horror and punk/metal go hand in hand because they are both out to scare, rattle the brain and put society on edge. Make the world feel alive through fear and terror.
3.) Has there been a horror remake yet that has bettered the original movie?
No modern remakes have really exceeded the original in my opinion. No matter how bad the original was it was still first seen that way. Hard to change a first opinion.
4.) What’s the greatest ever horror movie kill?
That is a tough one. So many good kills in so many good movies. Freddy always has had great kills. But my all time favorite would be the car chase semi-beheading at the beginning of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2.
5.) Who is the baddest ever horror movie villain…and why?
Baddest villain would have to be Jason Voorhees.
6.) Who is the greatest ever Scream Queen?
Scream queen would have to be Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis).
7.) Name your Top 5 favourite horror movies of all time…and tell us why!!
Top 5 horror flicks:
Halloween
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
An American Werewolf In London
Day Of The Dead
The Thing (Carpenter)
8.) What underrated horror movie would you recommend to our readers just in case they have never seen it?
Most underrated horror flick would be The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2.
9.) What is the greatest ever horror movie poster?
My favorite horror movie poster still hangs on my wall to this day, the original Romero The Crazies.
10.) Have you ever had a ghostly supernatural experience?
I have never personally had a supernatural experience.
11.) What ‘star’ of the music world would you like to see slaughtered in gory horror movie style?
I would love nothing more than to see U2’s Bono get killed in any of the 2000 Maniacs style of death.
