Xibalba – ‘Años En Infierno’ (Southern Lord)

John B reckons that this fourth album from Californian death metallers is “brutal in a great way”. It wastes no time and just starts out right in your face with heavy aggressive tones. The G man has been playing the EP nonstop since probably the end of February or beginning of March, and more recently recently braved the Covid lockdown and utilized the power of the internet to chat formally to the frontwoman about the band’s past, present, and future.

This latest project pairs the Spanish singer Ailyn, formerly of symphonic rockers Sirenia, and the guitarist Mike Orlando, best known for his work with the on-off amalgam by the name of Adrenaline Mob.
